The Faces Behind our Success
I’m Jason Smith, an IT professional, entrepreneur, and business owner. I’ve also been known as “everyone’s computer guy” from 1994-2009; where Jason’s IT Service began and has grown into ZATIS today. As the owner of ZATIS TECHNOLOGY GROUP, I am like that of the, “Chief Cook” and “Bottle Washer”! I love helping people and teaching them how to use technology to make their job easier. Technology needs to be a time-saver and not a time-trap.
When I’m not busy designing networks for statewide or even nationwide businesses, I also am a Husband, Father, Private Pilot, and Cadets Head Counselor at church. I enjoy spending quality time with my family, playing guitar, hunting, dirt biking, boating and taking in Michigan’s great outdoors. I share hobbies and interests with our boys in playing basketball, driving RC cars, flying drones, rough-housing… you know, “guy stuff”.
I’m Jon Dempster and I work with ZATIS TECHNOLOGY GROUP as Operations Support. I’m kind of a “catch all”, if you will, and work within several areas. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Marketing from Michigan State University. I have worked in sales, sales management and even acted as a National Sales Manager in the manufacturing sector. In addition to sales, I’ve also worked with a software development and research company as the A/V Media Director and IT Support. Building gaming and higher performance PCs is another trade of mine and have been doing it for almost 25 years now. The many facets of my lifetime careers have led me to where I am today with ZATIS TECHNOLOGY GROUP. In addition to onsite support, I’m behind the scenes working with quotes, purchasing, and performing remote resolutions to fix our customer’s IT issues as they arise. Part of the enjoyment in this job comes in that I am constantly challenged as the learning never stops.
When my face is not hidden behind a screen I am a father and grandfather and can often be found working around the house, tinkering with the car, or kicking back poolside in the summer months. I would also consider myself an avid college football fan and a sports/muscle car enthusiast!
I’m Dave VanRandwyk and work with Jason at ZATIS TECHNOLOGY GROUP as a Mentor in small business, and as an onsite back-up technician. I went to the University of Michigan where I earned my degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering. I worked in engineering with some different companies for a time, but then moved into the business field. I was able to move up to the CEO position over a multi-state region for Bursma Electronics. I stepped away from that and began working as an information technologist for small businesses. I began consulting and practicing in small business doing connectivity networking and working with small servers. It was through here that I met Jason and came to be with ZATIS. Working with Jason is like supporting the “chief cook and bottle washer”. In a way, a mentor. When it comes to the work I do, I truly love small businesses, and technology is so key to the productivity and efficiency. But small businesses often don’t have an adequate advantage of technology on their own. I like to be able to increase their awareness of technology to help them grow!
As much as I love the work that I do, I am semi-retired these days. I have a wife, three children and eight grandchildren I enjoy spending time with. I also volunteer in my spare time at Love Inc. and do their IT. Other interests of mine are traveling, playing pickleball, playing volleyball, and I love to bicycle!
I’m Mindy Webb and I work as an Administrative Assistant with ZATS Technology Group. I have almost 20 years in business management, human resources, and administration. At ZATIS I would best describe myself as the all-around “go getter”! If I see a need, I fill the need. I enjoy meeting and working with customers and doing what I can to put a smile on their faces!
In addition to my work, I am the proud mother of five wonderful children. “Taxi driver” is often the nickname I find popping up the most. I enjoy watching my children in their sports and activities. If that isn’t enough to fill my free time, then there’s likely homework to be done instead. When I get a break to be Mindy instead of mom, I enjoy reading, going for walks, catching up with friends, or shopping for my next favorite pair of shoes!
My name is David, but often go by Dave. I work for ZATIS Technology Group as an After-Hours and Onsite Technician. I graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Systems back in 2014 and have been working with computer hardware and software since the early 2000s.
There are many parts of this business that I enjoy, but I especially like getting to know users and how they work. I like to incorporate that knowledge to maximize the usability and performance of a computer. I enjoy being able to simplify how technology works. I would also consider myself an expert in ethernet cable management, taking pride in making things look picture perfect.
Outside of work I love spending time with my family. Disney World is by far our favorite place to vacation. More than the parks and resorts, learning about Disney history and the company in general is awesome. I’ve been told I’m a fanboy. I’m also a wedding DJ on the weekends.
